DOS stands for "Democratic Operating System".

From an industrial perspective, this project impacts primarily companies that are involved in web based operating systems and cloud computing. The final market addressed may be the game industry, or companies / small organizations that needs to set on a decision process to structure global projects. We believe that such an initiative is the future of social networks.

The DOS project is a starting thinking effort to design and specify a new collaborative, ethical environment able to create easily hierarchically structured decision processes. These structure decisions are designed by small groups of collaborators, needing to set on a collaborative process in response to a given task. The generated collaborative processes are based upon a principle of free acceptation of each individuals. The environment includes also a versioning mechanism that accepts easily human "trial-error-correction" behavior. You may wish to have a look to Jean-Marc Mercier post over this topic.

This project is a long term, cross disciplinary one, having clearly economical, technical, and philosophical impacts. It requires private and public synergies to be driven efficiently.
